No more blogs?

I would like to apologise for not posting blogs for awhile... it has something to do with school, yes - that's right, I've been grounded. As you know, I'm home-schooled and so my parents know exactly how I do in school... and once I do badly, I'm not sent to the principal's office or given a letter for my parents' acknowledgement, I'm grounded. Fair enough... I think young teenagers like me need a lot of that, after all, I don't know why we tend to think that we know everything and that the future is not important for now!

Please bear with me as I get to finish something I should have done months back and I'll keep on posting from my small insignificant teenager wisdom here then ok?

Doer not Hearer

Something we all lack is action. We tend to hear a lot but act little upon it, that’s why many people even in the church don’t see results. They come, sit there, hear the word, and go home, and they see no results. Why?

God is not going to drop the blessing from heaven. Although he did say that he would: “open the windows of heaven, and pour out so much blessing”. Didn’t He? But he would only pour it on us IF we TEST HIM! What is a test? It’s an action.

So he’s teaching us that we have to test him in other words action, so faith without action is dead. I was reading James 1:22-24, I would recommend you to read it. And there’s a funny part in it that says:

“For if anyone is a hearer of the word but not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in the mirror. For he observes himself and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was”.

Need I say more?

Laziness

I hate it when to alarm wakes me up. Because I’m in the best of my sleep and then a big noise starts to eek it’s way into my mind, then I have to wake up. Sometimes I just hit the snooze button repeatedly.

Come on I bet you do that! We all do and have done it a few times down the road of our lives. Now what I’m getting at is that this small and innocent looking gesture, can be a colossal mistake called: LAZINESS.

Everyone has felt laziness, I have, you have even the president of the United States and Brazil has. So laziness is something you can't run away from, unless you starve the laziness. So Amos how can I do that? Well, there is an action called: action! Get it? So when you don’t feel like doing anything and just lazing around like a sloth, that’s exactly when you have to get up and do something.

You’ll not only starve the laziness but also kill the joy and plans of the devil, because he’s the one that wants you yo be lazy and forget your duties. So don’t let him have his ways in you.

“It takes one small mistake to open a big hole for the devil to enter your life.

So

“Watch and pray”…. “Daily!”

God Bless

"Two Thoughts"

This Day of Decision event is for those who are sick and tired of their life the way it is, this event is for those, and only those who wish to turn their life around. If this is you please read on. If you say “my life is great” or “I don’t need help” then please don’t read. Someone’s life will change in the place of yours.

So this event is based on the story of Elijah. Who was Elijah? He was the last active prophet in Israel, why was he the last? Because Ahab (who in the Bible, describes him as the worst king ever to live) was killing all the prophets of the Lord, due to the fact that a new God was in town, called baal, And that everyone in Israel was forced to worship or else. But baal only came to existence because of Ahab’s demonic spouse Jezebel.

Elijah called everyone to gather on Mount Carmel, he asked them “till when are you going to waver between two thoughts?”. And he also proposed a challenge, The God who answers by fire, He is God. The people of Israel agreed, and liked the idea, so both Elijah and the prophets of baal set up an altar, and placed two bulls on it. In a nutshell the insane prophets and people of baal lost and when Elijah called on God fire immediately came down.

So how do you think this applies to you?

“till when are you going to waver between two thoughts?”

Do you want to change your life? Then now is the time. Don’t wait for you to die to change. Don’t be in doubt: “should I do it?” “Should I wait?” Don’t wait, the blessing is dangling in front of you, take it, it’s yours.

Nagging Feeling

It was a hot Saturday day, and I was evangelizing with a group from my church, and it was slow, but we got a few.

While searching among that crowd of people, only one caught my eye. She was a lady in her mid 30’s and with a cast on one leg, and a walking stick in the other. And in my mind this voice came and said “This One”! When she was in front of me I stretched out my hand with the flyer, and she just shook her head and kept going. So I retrieved my hand and continued looking for another person.

After a few minutes the lady came out of the store and another voice came and said “This One”! And again I stretched out my hand with the flyer, and again she shook her head. After she was getting in her car, and this nagging feeling came to me. And I found myself walking towards her car, when I arrived I tapped at the window and she opened.

The first words to come out of her mouth were “I’m not interested”. But then I replied “Madam let me give you a chance to change your life”. And from those words she I saw that she was interested. And so I invited her, and she signed her name to come to church.

The lesson I want to pass is obvious:

“Don’t give up”

Replacement

What do you replace problems with? Throw that question to the back of your mind for a few minutes, while I write on. As you read on you will find some hard truths about yourselves.

Let me give you an example. The wife is home cooking, and the husband comes home, from a hard day at work. See the how the problem arises:

Wife: Hello dear how are you doing?

Husband: (doesn’t say anything, just puts suitcase down, and turns on the TV)

Wife: Hello, can’t you see I’m talking to you, I asked you a question!

Husband: (just keeps changing the channel)

Wife: Oh my God, you are so stupid, I do everything for you, I cook, I clean, and take care of your son. And this is how you treat me, you’re always like this.

Husband: LOOK I don’t have to put up with this junk, I’m the one who brings all the money in the house, I work hard, you should be quiet and happy that at least I’m married to you. Because if I weren't, you would have been a bum.

Wife: So why are you still here, then get out if you don’t love me. I don’t need you anymore.

Husband: Throws the remote, and get out, slamming the door as he goes. He turns the car and speeds off.

Ok lets end here. Can you believe that there are people like this in the world? Actually, they do worse than this, it’s either beat up the wife, threatens her etc... And did you know that in the 1900’s divorce was a huge deal, to get divorce was shameful, but today it’s as natural as eating.

So anyway, the point is. What did the Husband replace his problems with? If you read his last bit, you would have noticed, that he threw the remote, got out of the house, and sped of in his car. Now let me ask you this; what good did it do? Nothing, in fact it just makes things worse. Because that probably would lead to divorce.

So how does this apply to you? When you have any problem, and it’s too hard to bear, what do you do? Do you scream and leave the room, do you quickly go to your room, and put on your iPod as loud as possible until the battery runs out? I don’t know but what you have to learn is that the devil wants you to forget your problems, and do something else to replace it. And as I said a few lines above, it makes thing worse. Trust me I know because I used to be like that. And it got me nowhere, except into deeper trouble.

So don’t be like my old me, instead of running away, iPod etc... Try and pray about it. That way you are metaphorically slapping the devil in his face. When your parents, husband, or wife is screaming like a ship foghorn, just take it in, don’t explode. And when they’re done, go to a private place and pray about it!

Ok? Try It

Thank You...

God's Promise

This week I was in the car with my mom, and all of a sudden someone cut us off sharply, my mom honked the horn, and then out of the blue, the woman in the other car stuck her middle finger at us a few times. And that got me really mad, and I questioned my mom, asking why? Why would someone do that to us, when we have done nothing wrong?

She told me that it was the devil, because only the devil would do something like that. I mean they were surely not of God, because if they were they wouldn’t have done that. So all arrows point to the evil one.

And then it got me thinking, the promise that God made Abraham in Genesis 12:3:

“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you”.

So people who talk badly, who criticize, badmouth, maltreat, and in our case swear at us; will be automatically cursed. But God didn’t give this promise to everyone, only to those who are his children. It’s funny, when we become his child, we get a shipload of promises, and blessings. It’s wonderful.
